Lovely, but not robust enough Totally agree with the previous reviewer - I bought the book anyway because my 18 month daughter is very into rain following this summer's miserable weather and is obsessed with Maisy. The book is lovely, with different interactive items on each page (wheels to turn, and tabs to pull) and it's lovely and colourful. However, the pages are paper not card, and she basically destroyed it in two sittings. It is now held together with sellotape and needs reinforcing with strips of card as all the tabs are bent. I think that the book is too basic to be of interest to a child who is old enough to handle it correctly. The "Busy Town" book we have is a million miles more suited to purpose.If your child still like picture books with about one line of text per page and is nimble-fingered enough to gently pull on a paper tab, then this book is fab. Otherwise, I still love the book, but buyer beware! Lucy Cousins scores again.
As all the other Maisy books, there are a huge variety of tabs and creative pop ups/moveables in this book. This, Maisy's moon landing, and Maisy's garden are by far my 2 1/2 year old son's favorite books since he was an infant, and he grows with the concepts in the books and gains a new appreciation for them every few months.
This is an engineered book, as flaps and interactive movements are on each page of Maisy's Wonderful Weather Book. Each page consists of a different weather and some things that someone might do, see, or wear in that weather. The pull-tabs or flaps also relate to the weather on the page.
Whether it's snowy, rainy, or sunny, readers can explore the natural world with Maisy and find out how wonderful weather can be! A fun book to teach children about the weather. Ages 3+
